FLORALS

Revel in Plesh’s floral paintings and it is plain to see that this is another favored and long-time subject of his work. Undoubtedly part of this is due to the mentoring of prominent floral and scenic painter Robert Laessig. Plesh readily notes his earlier works were detailed, representational renderings, but having mastered the representational art of florals and other such traditional subjects, he was primed for impressionistic and expressionistic stylings. This solid academic foundation allowed him to venture forth with ease and confidence toward more progressive methods, bringing his art an identity of creative freedom.     -Nena Black
